Our Story
Sulli is a family. What started as a quiet idea during a walk on a Florida beach has become a brand built on comfort, confidence, and the simple belief that everyone deserves to feel good in what they wear.
Where It All Began
Michael and I were married in 2014...
and couldn’t wait to start our family. We were overjoyed when we learned I was pregnant with our little Sophia.
That Fourth of July weekend in 2016, we found out Sophia would likely be born with Down syndrome. As terrified first-time parents-to-be, we faced a thousand fears—but there was never another option. She was already our blessing, and we were going to bring her into this world with open hearts.
At 26 weeks, I was admitted to the hospital on strict bed rest. Sophia was experiencing reverse cord flow, which meant she wasn’t getting enough nutrients. Our goal was simple: keep her safely in utero as long as we possibly could. Our neonatologist aimed for Halloween—and that’s exactly when she arrived.

Our Pumpkin Princess
On October 31, 2016, at 8:37 a.m., our beautiful pumpkin princess came into the world. Sophia Grace entered at just 2.3 pounds. The doctors tried to put her on a ventilator, but with her tiny little fist she knocked it away. Instead of many children born under these conditions, she went straight onto a CPAP machine to assist her young lungs. She was a fighter from the very first breath.
Just one week later, weighing only 2 pounds, she had to undergo intestine surgery. Hearing the doctor say, “We could lose her,” was one of the hardest things we’ve ever had to hear. Thankfully, she pulled through. She spent her first 2.5 months in the NICU and came home a true survivor. That moment set the tone for everything that would follow.
Since that day, Sophia has continued to surprise everyone. Therapists and teachers have told us the things she “couldn’t” do. But what we know for sure is what she can do:
She can light up a room with the smallest smile and cheer you up without even trying.

That spirit of encouragement became the beginning of something even bigger on a beautiful November morning in 2025. While walking along a Florida beach, with the sound of the waves, the warmth of the sun, and a little space to dream, the concept began to take shape.
What if we could create a clothing brand that did more than simply make people feel good in what they wear? What if it could also cheer others on, create connection, and make a meaningful difference in the lives of individuals with medical and developmental needs?
That morning on the beach, an idea began turning into a mission, one rooted in encouragement, purpose, and giving back. It became the beginning of a brand where cheering others on would not simply be something we believed in, it would be woven into everything we do.
